Probably everyone and his stepmother has seen this brilliant 1999 Pixar movie, but a "limited edition" two-disc set is worth shelling out a few extra bucks.

Just in case you don't remember the storyline: Woody is toy-napped by Al of Al's Toy Barn and has to decide between joining the Roundup Gang or going back to his place in Andy's room.

The best part about this DVD is the lengths it goes to explain the movie-making process. I had watched behind-the-scenes specials about Pixar movies which were always a big jumble of jargon and computer geeks. This time around, the gang has created a simplized step-by-step process that made me understand the long animation process.

Another cool feature is on the commentary by the director and co-directors. Each time one of the similar-sounding men speak, their name pops up on the screen, so you always know who is talking. Other extras include deleted scenes, the outtakes that showed after the film and a game.

Wedding Crashers "Uncorked Edition"

Although "40-Year-Old Virgin" stole some of its glory, I believe "Wedding Crashers" was the best comedy of 2005. The dialogue is so original and funny, and paired with Vaughn's matter-of-fact delivery, it can still make me laugh even though I've seen it four times.

John (Wilson) and Jeremy (Vaughn) spend the summer crashing weddings to meet and charm the pants off of women. They have a great time until John starts wanting more, breaks "The Rules" and extends their deception beyond the reception.

The "Uncorked Edition" has two commentaries, one from director David Dobkin and one from stars Wilson and Vaughn in which they laugh, eat, and talk about Wilson's dog. Oh yeah, and they sometimes give little tidbits of information such as what dialog was improvised.

There are "8 ½ more minutes!" according to the box. Most of it is about the angry artist brother, a character who could have been cut completely, but mostly it is better-than-average deleted material.

The original version is also on the disc, as are a couple of repetitive featurettes.

What flowers would be available in the fall for my October wedding ...

Even if you don’t plan on booking a florist, you could call around to a few in the area who do weddings and ask them what’s in season in Oct. Act like you want a quote for your wedding and get the info you want and don’t call them back Your friends will have to find a wholesaler to order the flowers from though, I hope they’re already set up to buy from someone.

Just about any flower is available, save for true spring blossoms like tulips, daffodils, lilacs, peonies, etc. Those "could" be available, as I am sure someone produces them in a greenhouse, but since they are so "springy" the need for them isn’t there, so no one does them.

For October, you can’t beat roses, mums, carnations, alstromeria, etc. It’s really all about the color combos and arrangements, anyway. Second only to August, July is one of the hottest months with high temperatures averaging 90 degrees and lows averaging 75 degrees. We can expect at least eight inches of rain making July a very wet month. We need the rains of July since June was disappointingly dry and did little to hydrate our drought weary gardens.
