WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Officers with the Wilmington Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Thursday night.
According to officials, 16-year-old Tony Leon Harris, Jr. was found lying on the front porch of a home in the 900 block of North Fifth Avenue around 7:30 p.m.
The owners of the home called 911 and rescue crews arrived within four minutes. The woman told 911 dispatch operators that the young man, who she calls "TJ", had blood on his chest.

At the beginning of the call she said the teen was not alert, but breathing heavily. She said it appeared as if the young man had multiple wounds.
Harris was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made in the case at this time.
