MacPhee Named Perkins Coie Denver Managing Partner

DENVER – Perkins Coie Partner Len MacPhee has been appointed as the new managing partner for the firm’s Denver office. He is succeeding Bob Miller, who has held the position for the past four years.

MacPhee is a partner in the firm’s Litigation practice with a focus on franchise litigation, corporate and shareholder disputes, general business disputes and employment litigation. Since joining the firm in 2003, he has successfully represented many franchisors in class actions and systems-based claims. He was recognized as one of the leading franchising lawyers in the nation by Chambers USA in 2011 and has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America from 2010-2011.

DENVER — Intellectual property and business litigator Jeffrey Kass has joined Polsinelli Shughart’s Denver office as a shareholder in its trial department. Kass in April joined Polsinelli’s St. Louis office from Gallop Johnson & Neuman. He moved to the Denver office this month. Kass has an affinity for start-ups and entrepreneurs.

“Jeffrey is as equally comfortable providing IP and business counsel to the offices of a small startup as he is defending large companies in the court room,” said Gene Commander, Polsinelli’s Denver managing partner, in a statement. “He will be a tremendous asset to our clients both in the Rocky Mountain region and nationally.”

Kass received his law degree in 1995 from the University of Toledo College of Law, where he later served as an adjunct professor of IP litigation. He is currently licensed to practice in Missouri and Illinois.

Kass, who joined the firm’s St. Louis office before relocating to Denver, has more than 16 years of experience representing clients in many areas of law.
